When Two Become One

As your wedding photographer (and family photographer, let's be honest) I truly feel blessed that you chose me and trust me with your memories. With that being said, I am in constant reminder of how precious these captured, tangible moments are; not only because loved ones tell me so but because of the sometimes heartbreaking stories my couples and families share with me. A few months ago, for example, a mom messaged me just to let me know how much one of her photos from their last session meant to her. See, her mother had passed when she was young and she didn't have many candid, in-the-moment-snuggles type of photos like the one she received from me with her two little girls. So to her, that photo is literally priceless and that's the kind of thing that warms my photographer heart and reminds me why I do what I do.

Now for David and Alexa.

I said all that to prepare you for the story of their wedding day; David's mom was watching from heaven. She was and is very loved by all of her family who still grieve the tremendous loss. However, David, Alexa and their family did an amazing job of making sure his mom was still present for their best day ever. In fact, Alexa's ring is David's mom's. It doesn't get any more sentimental and tear-jerking than that. David pinned a photo of her on the inside of his jacket while his sister tucked her photo as close as possible to her heart. A special table was arranged in her memory that included photos and a special candle piece complete with her favorite thing; pine cones. David also made sure to have her close to his heart by adorning mini pine cones on his boutonniere. Their ceremony was the first that I've had tears literally streaming down my face as they read their vows to each other, which of course included sentiments regarding how difficult of times, with Alexa's family as well, they had experienced over the passed few years and only became stronger as a couple, more in love than ever.

David and Alexa are practically the most family-orientated, kind, joyous people I have ever met. All day their families were concerned about everyone else, but in a great way. I personally had to tell Alexa MULTIPLE times (along with her sister and mother) to stop worrying about me and focus on Alexa's big day. But that's just how they are. So genuinely nice, sweet and caring. And man have they done an amazing job of surrounding themselves with like-minded, supportive and loving people!

I can NOT say enough good things about these two and I am absolutely honored to have been a part of their wedding day! They're everything a photographer could ask for in a couple and even more as a friend.

Mr. and Mrs. Berry, I can't thank you enough for trusting us with your extraordinary day and didn't let a little rain and cloudy skies get you down!

I truly hope you love these as much as I do! And I can't wait to see what the future holds for the two of you, you deserve nothing but the absolute best life has to offer.
