So I talk to you guys a lot about how I love photographing my friends and that that was the main reason I even began my photography business. I'm lucky enough to capture A LOT of close friends and family, and subsequently getting the opportunity to watch their families grow (by either human or fur feet!).
However, as far as how long I've known someone who's wedding I get to capture, Kelly takes the cake. I've literally known Kelly for over 23 years. Yes, twenty three. Kindergarten. Who would have thought that we would even still be in contact much-less the fact that I will be a part of one of the biggest, best days of her life?! And it's not like where we grew up is Small Town, USA either so don't think, "Well maybe it just comes full circle." No ma'am or sir!
Not only do I get to photograph Kelly's wedding to Luke, but she's the one who sent someone to me who quickly became such a great friend of mine and also happens to be now married to Luke's brother (I'm sure you remember the amazingly joyous McKenna's from last October! If not, check out their Blog: Love, Lots of Laughter & Happily Ever After).
When I saw that Luke popped the question a few weeks after Jessica and Travis' wedding while Kelly and he were on vacation, I crossed my fingers and did a little dance hoping they would choose me to be their photographer as well for a million reasons. Sure enough, Kelly messaged me and I was elated!
Fast forward to five months later and the end of tax season for Kelly, which means she can finally let her hair down and enjoy an engagement session with her Luke! Luckily for me, Kelly and Luke are 1) the absolute most ADORABLE, silly, kissy couple ever 2) very go-with-the-flow. What I mean is, not only did we not have the sun, but it was raining. Yes, raining. Any other time we would have rescheduled for sure but Kelly and Luke were confident we would get exactly what they had in mind. And did we ever! I took over 700 photos. Yes. Over 700. THAT is how freaking cute they are. Some how I managed to select my favorites, and now had the even MORE difficult task of choosing a few to share with you all here!
To the almost Mr. & Mrs. McKenna, I am so honored you chose me. Kelly you are perfection and you are still the super bubbly, kind, sweet and caring chick I was lucky enough to grow up with through soccer practices, Spice Girls and high school shenanigans. And I can not tell you how full my heart is for you knowing that you've found your prince charming, the one who loves you like no one else can, the one who puts yours needs and wants before his own. Luke, thank you for obliging every request I had, including jumping with another human on your back! You are simply the best!
Luke and Kelly, I hope you two love these as much as I do!
Enjoy!!
P.S. How cool is it that their house number is ALSO their best day ever?!

Here's your "selfie" Kelly!
